Climbing Trees and Cleaning House

So, I don’t homeschool.

But if I did …

I’d use the story of the week JESUS AND ZACCHAEUS to work on a little Social Studies –

Maybe really dig into the tax and tax collector of New Testament times ANCIENT TAX COLLECTOR

Or, talk about taxation past and present in the United States US TAX HISTORY

I’d segue from taxes into Math –

Because you cannot do taxes without talking about money KIDS.GOV MONEY GAMES (AND HISTORY, TOO)

And doing a little division – or, insert timely short FREAK OUT – fractions HOMESCHOOL CALCULATOR (will not work if you don’t homeschool)

Of course for Science I would do a unit on trees –

Specifically sycamore trees SYCAMORE TREE FACTS

And we would both compost (on Tuesday) and make a bird feeder (on Thursday) WHAT TO DO WITH SYCAMORE BALLS?

You better believe that every day we would participate in Home EC –

Zacchaeus had unexpected company come to his house, you know. I mean, what would Jesus find at our house?!

Each one of these must first be analyzed for potential effectiveness

But the favorite subject of the week would definitely be Physical Education –

And then we’d be out there doing it. JUST LIKE THIS
